Our Approach to Affordable Housing

Planning the Project

We believe research is vital. Our dedicated project executive team will be involved with your project from the very beginning. 


To avoid unnecessary cost overruns during construction, our team takes the time to understand each state’s Qualified Application Plan (QAP). We review local requirements upfront and inform our development partners so they can make educated decisions. 


At Paragon Construction Company, we understand there is a give and take between the developer, subcontractors and the project manager, and we want to own that risk. Our flexible approach results in the most cost-effective sequence and schedule for all involved.


We genuinely care about everyone involved in our projects, and that starts with our contractors. We don’t just work with reputable experts in each trade — we only partner with those who share our passion for preserving the Affordable Housing industry. Building lasting relationships with partners we trust enables us to deliver consistent results and enhances the satisfaction of every party.  


Managing the Project

After the budget is fine-tuned by our pre-construction team, it is passed onto the project management team. Our project management team works closely with subcontractors, owners and architects to make sure all work being performed is completed in a timely but flexible manner and in accordance with project specifications. 


Throughout the project, the project management team is responsible for putting together monthly draw packages with the help of our financial team. Project management works closely with our field staff to make sure schedules are being met and contracts are being upheld.

Building the Project

In the build phase, our field team works diligently to manage subcontractors and other entities involved to achieve the schedule presented at the front of the project. They work closely with the project management team as well as ownership and architects to ensure the level of work desired is executed in a safe and efficient manner. 


We think creatively about scheduling and sequencing projects in a way that is beneficial to all stakeholders to ensure maximized value for our clients. Most importantly, we consider how construction will impact the residents and management, accounting for the daily inconveniences that the renovation presents. Approaching each build with compassion and empathy allows us to ensure smooth transformations for each community we serve.
